- ESP32-2432S028R (2.8 inch) With USB-C, The one with micro only will work but it's not the newest model. Do NOT buy the capacitive version that ends in C. Only the R version works.
Don't want to mess around with soldering battery leads and GPS modules? Neither did I. This mod chip lets you add a LiPo battery, battery status over I2C, and GPS to your Cheap Yellow Display with zero soldering. Works out of the box with the ESP32 Marauder and Bruce Firmware.

GPS isn’t working?
If you have trouble with GPS locking, you’ll unfortunately have to leave your dank crypt you vampire. Cell phones have spoiled us by making us think GPS should always work indoors when really a phone is using a combination of cell tower triangulation, WiFi, and GPS antennas to acquire your position. That cell phone technology is A-GPS. This board is purely GPS and for it to work, it needs an unobstructed view of the sky. It can work in a car though! It’s the same story with fancy Garmin GPS trackers too. So go outside! (Yes you can wait until it’s dark 🧛♂️)

A little pricy for such a small board but it makes my life easier so thank you.
I hear ya... I wish these could be cheaper too. I’ve already had to increase the cost once. The unfortunate reality is the components on the board are pricey (especially the GPS), and with the volumes I produce at its the best I can do for this niche product. Not to mention crazy tariffs now. As soon as there’s a way to make it more affordable, I promise I will act on it. Thanks for your feedback and order, I’m happy you like it!
The title made me think it included a battery, it does not. It does say in the more fine print that it does not come with a battery so that was on me for missing that note. So order a battery. That really minor thing aside its a good kit, the case is printed well. the parts go together well. its a pretty clean build. I am impressed. One change in the 3d model would be to add a ridge along the face to give a little buffer to protect the screen.
Easy to assemble, just be careful of pinching the wires. It almost feels like the case needs to be a millimeter bigger in every direction. The daughter board is snug fit, the wires need to be carefully placed. However, once you're done with that, your Cheap Yellow Display is ready for action.
So far so good. I have a certain fondness for hardware that eliminated the need for soldering since i am blind in one eye. .
Lookin forward to gettin other gear
The board is great. My only issues have been with the gps antenna and the case. The antenna is being detected in marauder and on bruce but cannot get a fix. It sees an antenna is connected. The other issue is the case. The top broke when I unscrewed it to put in the cyd. Luckily I have a 3d printer and was able to print another.
EDIT: After a quick tear down and a reflash of the firmware, everything is now working.
